Functions of the Customs Directorate:

• Controlling ships , aircraft , trains and crew on arrival and departure from the area and control of the free markets within the region to ensure the safety of the transport goods , and to prevent the entry of goods to the region without the payment of customs duty ..

• Coordinating with Directors of Investor Services to approve directly the work of clearance companies by assessing the experience of the managers of companies , qualifying the examiners , holding the examinations and issuing work permits of the customs agents working for them to find in the customs service procedures provided by the authority to investors with high efficiency and professionalism .

• Fulfillment of the allowance and fines achieved for the Authority in accordance with the law and the customs system and the followed instructions to those who related to the associated with the customs process and the fines resulting from the violation of the instructions for the entry and the exit of foreign cars and overloading on roads and the collection of taxes to the Ministry of Finance , which the Authority assumed powers of collection and supply to the Directorate of Finance and deposit in the Central Bank .

• Coordinating and following –up with the relevant Security Authorities to achieve the highest levels of control at international borders , checkpoints and within the region .
