Development and expansion of Aqaba Heritage Museum

The Museum contains several pavilions from the Al-Aqbawi House, a Picture and Documentation Hall, the Castle Hall, the Acquisitions, the Maritime Hall and the Heritage Market. The number of visitors to the Museum reached 24000, and the activities of the Mobile Museum are held. Two exhibitions were held outside the Museum's assets and miniatures of the museum's exhibits at the University of Aqaba Technology and the University of Jordan Offers and explanations to the audience about the importance of the museum and its assets.

Developing and activating the mobile library

Activating the services and activities of the Mobile Library within the reading for all project through educational lectures, film shows, competitions, reading, trips, entertainment and sports programs through (85) visits by the mobile library of villages, neighborhoods, schools and associations in the governorate of Aqaba. And carried out (8) exploratory trips for school students to tourist sites and heritage, where it benefited (110) students. And participated in a series of activities Aqaba cultural city of Jordan through 8 initiatives in partnership with the youth of all of Jordan and the initiative of Khwarizmi and the initiative of writing and the Day of Deaf global presence of 700 participants and there were gifts and prizes to strengthen communication with friends of the library and its children and teachers and the most important activities of the library active participation in the Festival of Fuheis city Salt We have created a page for the Mobile Library on Facebook://https:www.facebook.com/groups/45154182830424

Holding lectures, exhibitions, evenings, films, festivals, competitions, cultural and awareness activities

The department contributes to activating the cultural movement of society and raising the level of cultural awareness in the society through an integrated system of cultural and awareness programs and activities, which included the following:

  • Implementing (25) cultural lectures inside and outside the public library in the presence of (1290) people.

  • Presentation of educational films in the library hall of the Public Library.

  • Presenting papers in the conference of the Great Arab Revolt in the presence of (1450) people.

  • The implementation of workshops and a drawing festival for 250 people.

  • Participation in the library and information conference and activities within the city of Aqaba culture to provide two working papers on Aqaba and the Great Arab Revolution.

  • Participation in exhibitions of art, book exhibitions and handicrafts exhibitions attended by nearly 750 people.

  • Holding poetry evenings at the festival of Fuheis with the participation of four poets.

Provide Library with books , book binding, computerization and classification of library and training staff

The department provides all sources, information and knowledge from books, references, periodicals and computer materials to provide all the library services from reading, studies, researches, newspapers, magazines and internet service in the public library and Haya Cultural Center where it received 7,500 visitors. The department has developed and modernized the library services provided through the following procedures:

  • Library computing.

  • Modernization and development of the Internet Hall.

Supporting, empowering and building the capacity of cultural actors, supporting and nurturing creators

The Department supports and enables cultural institutions and bodies to play their role in cultural development by providing support and care for their cultural activities and programs and communicating and coordinating them in cultural programs.
