Investment Services Directorate

Functions of the investment Services Directorate:

• Implementing the necessary procedures to cancel the visa , residence permit or work permit , and file payment to those who violated the law of the laws in force or in the continuation of their residence constitutes a danger to the public interest and to take legal action against the violating institutions , the conditions of recruitment by applying the Jordanian Labor Law No.8 of 1996 and the Visa , residence , employment system of Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority No.90 of 2000 and the legislation in force , and to go on applications to obtain or renew a work visa , work permition , residence or visitation visa .

• coordinating with the Ministry of the Interior , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the Ministry of Labor , as appropriate the process of issuing visas , work permits and residence permits as in the MoUs .

• preparation of periodic technical and statistical reports on the progress of work in the region , and the numbers of Jordanian labor , expatriate labor and irregular labor to determine the amount of revenue which received by the Directorate for the treasury of the Authority , also to determine the nationalities within the special area ..

• Taking the necessary measures to cancel the visa and the residence permit which granted to the foreigner in cases of illegal residence or his presence constitutes a danger and placement to the Chairman Board of Commissioners for the deportation outside of the Kingdom in accordance with the established procedures ..

• Coordinating with external bodies such as : Directorate of Residence and Borders, intelligence Department , airports and crossings to facilitate the entry of tourist delegations , visitors and visa holders , embassies and consulates aboard , courts as well as coordination with the convened directorates within the Authority

• Regulating the labor market in the region , paying , revoking permits, work visas and residence permits , extending temporary residence for visitors of different nationalities and collecting fines for violators of residency and employment laws in the region ..

• • Preparing and implementing regular programs to follow up the affairs of the workers in the region and to ascertain the extent of the commitment of the work and the employer’s (in terms of conducting tours and inspecting work violations ) and to ensure their compliance with the Labor Law , Entry and work regulations and instructions in Area NO.90 of 2000 . To ensure the control of the labor market and the linearization of violins against employers who violate the labor law and the system of visas for entry , work and residence in the region ..

• Coordinating with the competent authorities to conduct a night inspection tours of night clubs , to control offenders and to take appropriate procedures as appropriate to deport violators whose residence poses a danger to the public interest and to take deterrent measures to prevent the infiltration of foreign workers into and out the special area ..

• Monitoring the abuses included in cases that may fall under the category of crimes of human trafficking in accordance with the Law (Prevention of Human Trafficking No. 9 of 2009) and initiate legal procedures relating to all forms of human trafficking, tracing and seizure in accordance with the specific powers and in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and the Directorate of Public Security , And to work to bring the perpetrators of human trafficking crimes to the competent judicial authorities, as well as to coordinate with the concerned authorities regarding the shelter of victims of human trafficking, taking into account Article (7) of the Prevention of Human Trafficking Law No. 9 of 2009 and the amendments thereto.

• Receiving and studying requests for exemption from fees , fines and requests to reduce the proportion of Jordanian labor and coordinating with the competent authorities in this regard

• Providing the necessary facilities for major of non-Jordanian investors to obtain the required services .

• Issuing and renewing work visas for domestic workers to residents in the region and completing the procedures of work visas after entry and the arrival of the maid on the work card in addition to issue work permits to serve the house after competing all necessary procedures ..

• Providing technical information, guidance and awareness to employers and workers to contribute to the economic development in the region and to highlight the civilized face to achieve the development ,prosperity and welfare of the society

• Following up the implementation of the sequences monitoring of companies and institutions registered in the region to ensure their compliance with the law of the region ,the detection of the field sense and to take legal actions against violators according to the regulation of the organization of investment environment, development and the system of registration of institutions instructions issued under them ..

• Issuing a certificate of companies and institutions registration to get benefit from the advantages of Aqaba Special Economic Zone in accordance with the provisions, laws and regulations in force .

• Issuing and delivering certificates of goods origin of the Jordanian origin, which are manufactured in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone through the representative of Amman Chamber of the industry .
